The upper left hand image is a 3D rendering image created by an Australian company providing 3D modeling services. While the rendering represents the architecture and environment, I decided to render in layers over the image using 2D rendering techniques to create an enhanced version. My assumption regarding the open structure in the foreground of the building is that it was meant to support sun screening... and so I added horizontal slats to a portion of it in my version of the rendering, to give relevance to the architectural elements above it on the house. By contrasting light on Landscaping, it became possible to better enhance the architecture, while also making the overall presentation of it more dramatic. As well, I illustrated a ceramic tile surface to the walkway surrounding the house which seemed to better compliment the colour scheme and overall design of the residence within the natural surrounding of the location. Sky colour alterations and glazing reflections were then added, as well as landscape lighting details to add 'believability' to the overall image. So revised, from the initial 3D rendering, the new 2D version, I think, is more suitable for both client presentation and other publication or web based applications... as shown in the bottom, large view of the altered rendering. This series of images has been created and installed on my site to demonstrate by example how 2D rendering can be utilized to advantage by architects and designers to represent their concepts to clients and for publication forms as well.
