Giclée Art
Prints
blends fine art and state of the art printing technology. When printed
on canvas
print giclées have continuous tone character, color
saturation and detail of the original artwork.

The word “giclée” is
French,
(pronounced gee-clay) from
the verb “gicler” which means “to splatter” or “to project”. Controlled by the
computer and final proof file, the giclée printer projects the inks onto
the archive quality paper to create the giclée print.

A Giclee Archival Art Print
print begins with a computer file derived from a scan of an
original painting,
a computer file of a photograph of the original
painting, or the original computer file of the computer art work.
The file
to be used for creation of the giclee print is then made available to the
giclee printer and in collaboration with Artist,
a printer proof is
generated for inspection to confirm that the final giclee printing
accurately reflects the original art work. |
|
State
of the art software and advanced giclee printing hardware allow for a reproduced
image that displays the continuous tone, color saturation and detail of
the original artwork. As specified by you, the final Giclee Art Print is
then produced as giclee on canvas
. The
advantages in acquiring a Giclee Art print are: high quality art print at significantly
lower cost over that of the original art work, or painting.
|
|
Your
Giclee canvas print looks just like an original painting on
canvas, or paper and may be framed in the traditional
manner of an oil painting, or under glass.

Alternately, Reproduction Art prints
offer the advantage
of lesser cost than Giclee archival Art Prints. There is little visible
difference from Giclee Art Prints, but are less costly due to reproduction
on quality commercial grade paper stock and not archival grade, acid free
paper stock.
Smaller,
versions may be reproduced that maintain both quality and proportions of
the original art work. All Art Prints on canvas, or
paper stock prints are sent to you in a protective shipping tube and have
a border surrounding image to accommodate framing.
