The Original house was added to with a split level addition on it's left side. The initial project here was to create a Double Bay Garage Addition to either left or right side of the addition. (See "Other Concept Proposals Considered" below)

The option of 'underground parking' came into consideration due to the the Addition that had been made previously having it's floor level four feet below ground level. The natural next consideration was to extend the upper floor of that earlier created Addition.... now above the 'underground garage'.

Whereas the original and existing entry led straight into the living room area of the house, it was thought preferable to enter elsewhere, through a foyer... which led to the notion of locating it centrally... allowing for access to both 'sides' of the house.

Cutting an Entry into the Addition means removal of six feet of upper level floor of the earlier formed Addition & creating a Foyer floor at ground level. That decision allows for access to both lower level parking garage and  living area of the existing house... as well as direct stairway access to upper level  living areas and new addition bedrooms.

Reasonable and seemingly simple renovation / addition concepts... that required a complex solution... which provides  unexpected benefits to Interior Living Spaces & general functionality throughout the residence.

This concept suggested Double Garage Parking on Left Side

with Bedrooms located above & located centrally.
